LONDON - The latest survey of a leading industry organization in Britain has found that most companies in London are positive about the 2012 Olympics Games, thinking it is good for the economy.

The survey of more than 250 London companies issued by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) on Wednesday just a month to go before the Games opening?said that most London companies think the 2012 Olympic Games will boost tourism and help promote the capital.

Nearly all firms or 92 percent of the surveyed companies said that hosting the Olympics and Paralympics will help promote London internationally, 76 percent think they will boost tourism, and 63 percent say they are looking forward to the Games.

A quarter of respondents expect their businesses to benefit directly from the events and two-thirds of companies (64 percent) expect at least the same level of customer and business activity during the Games.

At the same time, the number of businesses who feel confident about dealing with the transport and logistics issues during the Games has risen 5 percent since last year to 37 percent.

Half of employers intend to let their employees work from home during the Games, and 57 percent will adapt their working hours, while 46 percent of firms say they will allow employees to have time off to attend events, according to the survey.

Sara Parker, CBI London Director, said: "The 2012 Games will help showcase London around the world and will be good for the economy.

"But with only a month to go, the scale of the challenge is becoming clear and some businesses are still nervous about their levels of preparedness. That's why it's crucial that all companies ensure they plan ahead, particularly for the transport and logistical challenges."

In terms of logistics planning during the Games, 13 percent of companies will stockpile supplies and 12 percent will reduce deliveries.
