BANK BEGINS

East West Bank hosted the grand opening of its newest branch, in the Silicon Valley city of Cupertino, California on Sept 20. Vice Mayor Orrin Mahoney and Mayor Mark Santoro (fifth and sixth from left, respectively, behind ribbon) joined the ceremony, along with Karen Fukumura (to the right of Santoro), an executive vice-president and retail-banking head for the bank's holding company, East West Bancorp. TECH SESSION
