Enhancing innovation

Innovation-driven development ranks the first among Wuxi's six strategies for its development in the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20). Wuxi will focus on construction of the national innovation demonstration zone in southern Jiangsu, which consists of several industrial parks in five cities, and promote innovation cooperation among cities and parks. The city will build scientific and technological innovation systems for industries and make companies play a major role in and benefit from technological innovation as well as innovation-driven development.

New competitive edges

A solid foundation of sectors is a strength of Wuxi's economic development. The city plans to promote utilization of information technologies and environmental protection as well as develop advanced technologies to improve development of sectors. The city will continue construction of the Wuxi National Sensing Innovation Demonstration Park and develop technologies related to the Internet of Things. It will implement the big data plan and boost the Internet-based economy.

Further opening-up

The city will not only seek more cooperation opportunities domestically and abroad but also attract globally advanced industries. It aims to help several local companies grow into multinationals and become more competitive internationally.
