Remains of the Neolithic Age, about 4,500 to 5,300 years ago, were discovered at Luojiaba site in Sichuan province, said the archaeologists on Wednesday. This makes Luojiaba a Neolithic Age site with the largest and oldest collection at the Jialing River basin so far.
The Luojiaba site, one of the largest and best preserved ruins of Ba Culture so far in China, has been excavated four times, and the latest excavation was from December 2015 to June 2016. The Neolithic Age cultural relics earthed from the Luojiaba site are mainly pottery and stone artifacts. "Though they are more than 4,000 years old, the stone artifacts are still quite sharp and can hurt our fingers,” Chen Weidong, leader of the archaeological team, said.
