China will promote energy infrastructure connectivity with surrounding countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, a senior official of the country's top economic planner said.

"We will speed up the implementation of a batch of clean energy development and power grid connectivity projects that are mature and cost-effective," the National Development and Reform Commission's secretary-general, Li Pumin, said at the 2018 Global Energy Interconnection Conference on Wednesday.

Li said the NDRC has actively promoted the energy consumption revolution in recent years and achieved positive results in energy interconnectivity construction.

The NDRC will continue to push forward the energy revolution, promote global energy interconnection, and achieve green and low-carbon development, he said.
