Fashion is a mirror of history. From April 25, a cheongsam exhibition in Guangzhou tells the story of 20th century Hong Kong through a collection of 205 gowns.
It reflects great progress in gender equality as more women in Hong Kong were getting educated and employed after the May Fourth Movement. The event also demonstrates the pride Hong Kong residents have for their cultural heritage, passed down through generations.
