Dance drama tells the story of PLA

An original dance drama, Jinggang, Jinggang, was staged at Beijing Dance Academy on Nov 27, before moving on to Shanghai on Dec 5.[Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

Guo, a Jiangxi native, led the team to visit local revolutionary sites and learn the stories about the Jianggang Mountains. The choreographer also adapted the rhythm of Jiangxi's tea leaf-picking operas, a local folk art form, to reflect the regional style.

The dance drama premiered at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing on Oct 10, 2017, marking the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the PLA.

Next January, it will be staged at the Hainan Opera House.
