As the aviation industry faces turbulence amid the ongoing novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, the Civil Aviation Administration of China is requiring domestic air carriers to strive to maintain services along international routes.

Xiamen Airlines maintains four flights every week from Xiamen and Fuzhou in East China's Fujian province to cities in the United States; two weekly flights from Xiamen to Vancouver, Canada; three flights from Xiamen to Sydney, Australia and two flights from Xiamen to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Xiamen Airlines' flights between Fujian and destinations in Asia such as Singapore; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Bangkok, Thailand, as well as cities in Japan and South Korea are also still operating.

Xiamen Airlines will ensure one flight daily from Fujian to Singapore beginning Wednesday.

Air China has also resumed international multi-stop flights.

Operating international flights amid the NCP is a big challenge for Chinese carriers as certain countries have suspended flights to and from China.

To help in the fight against the contagion, Chinese airlines are shouldering more responsibilities. Xiamen Airlines organized 10 charter flights to Manila, the Philippines, to bring back 2,100 Chinese tourists. To date, the carrier has transported over 610 tons of goods used for preventing and controlling the epidemic.
