Another batch of more than 600,000 students from elementary, middle and high schools in Shanghai returned to campus on May 18.
This is the third batch of students to resume classes on campus since the city first re-opened schools on April 27 for students in the final year of middle school and high school.
To date, all students except kindergarteners and those in the first to third grades have resumed classes on campus. These groups of students can also choose to return to school starting on June 2 or continue with their online learning at home for the rest of the semester, according to the municipal education commission.
