BEIJING - China's foreign exchange (forex) market in May recorded a turnover of 15.67 trillion yuan, or $2.21 trillion, data showed.

Specifically, the turnover of forex transactions between banks and their clients totaled 2.33 trillion yuan last month, while that of interbank forex transactions stood at 13.34 trillion yuan, according to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE).

In the first five months of this year, the country's forex market turnover totaled 74.96 trillion yuan, the data showed.
