Chinese Academy of Sciences unveils philosophy institute

BEIJING -- The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has set up a philosophy institute to promote the coordination between science and philosophy.
The unveiling ceremony of the institute was held Thursday at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing.
The institute will focus on the philosophical issues of scientific and technological development, said Bai Chunli, president of the CAS. It is expected to support sci-tech innovation from the perspective of philosophy.
The institute consists of five research centers integrating the philosophy with various subjects such as logic and mathematics, physical science, life science, intelligence as well as cognitive science.
