Representatives from different sectors in Hong Kong on Thursday formed a new alliance to rally public support of the decision by the National People’s Congress to improve the electoral system of the special administrative region. Citywide signature campaigns were launched online and offline. Over 110,000 people had signed an online petition to support the amendments as of 11 pm on Thursday.
