Beijing to help reform global governance

Beijing will further actively engage in reforming and developing the global governance system and "firmly defend the UN's central role in international affairs", a veteran Chinese diplomat said on Wednesday.
Wang Chao, president of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs and president of the United Nations Association of China, made the pledge at a Vision China session hosted by China Daily.
"This epoch-making event (the restoration of China's lawful seat at the UN) significantly enhanced the universality, representativeness and authority of the United Nations, (and) ushered in a new stage in China's foreign relations," Wang said. (Read more)
