The Antai College of Economics & Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, launched a new education platform called Doing Business in China on Thursday during the 9th International Business School Shanghai Conference (IBSSC 2022).

According to Chen Fangruo, dean and professor of the college, the new online platform aims to provide participants with a better understanding of the business environment in China. It also aims to help students share globally-relevant business insights and help businesspeople seize opportunities in China and around the world.

"The vision of our college is to be a world-class business school firmly rooted in China, and we are building a new model of business education that combines theory with practice," Chen said.

Through this online platform in English, which is the first of its kind in China, international students will gain access to over 70 sessions on eight subject areas such as accounting, finance, data and business intelligence.

During the conference held from October 19 to 21, the deans of top business schools will share their insights and formulate strategies for future business education.

The biennial conference is the largest dean-level event for business schools in the Asia Pacific according to the organizer and is focused on global business trends and cutting-edge business topics.

During the event, Professor Liu Qiao from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University stressed on the importance of coordinated development during the pandemic. He noted that business schools should utilize digital platforms to strengthen communication between teachers and students.

According to Professor Christina Soh from the Nanyang Business School at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, business schools must train students in e-commerce by providing compulsory courses regarding digital technology and relevant internships.
