Groups of adorable pet cats and dogs dressed in gorgeous clothes walked along with their owners on the runway of a three-day pet fashion show that kicked off on Saturday at the Shanghai Fashion Center.

Hosted by Shangtex Fashion Company, the 2024 Shanghai Petjoy Fashion Week covers fashion runway shows, fashion trend exhibitions and relevant forums, inviting pets and their owners to participate together.

Twenty pet brands have launched their new collections through runway shows during the fashion week.

Zhang Xin, executive vice-general manager of Shanghai Fashion Center, said that pet fashion is no longer limited to clothing. According to the booths of this year's Pet Fashion Week, more and more pet owners are shifting their focus to pet accessories, accommodation and travel.

"Data indicates that pet consumption has been continuously increasing and will continue for a long time," said Zhang.
