Guizhou has seen rapid expansion in its auto and new energy vehicle industries in recent years, supported by abundant mineral resources and pro-investment local policies. Industry leaders, including BYD and CATL, have established operations in the province.

According to the provincial bureau of statistics, in the first half of this year, Guizhou's manufacturing value added rose 8.6 percent. Auto manufacturing jumped 83 percent, and value added for large-scale new energy vehicle power batteries and materials increased 30.8 percent year-on-year.

Officials said they will continue to strengthen the province's automotive and new energy vehicle industrial chains, improve supporting infrastructure and talent training, and attract more automakers to set up in Guizhou.
