In Xi's footsteps: Achieving harmony with nature (1)
President Xi Jinping has always attached great importance to ecological conservation. Following in his footsteps across China, let's explore his vision of harmony between humanity and nature.
On Oct 10, 2023, Xi inspected a section of Yangtze River National Cultural Park located in Jiujiang, #Jiangxi province, where he learned about ecological restoration efforts along the shoreline. During his visit, Xi inquired about the condition of the Yangtze River, including water levels and quality, shipping, flood control and the fishing ban.
Stretching over 6,300 kilometers, the Yangtze River, a mother river of the Chinese nation and a core pillar of the country's development, is the world's third-longest river and the longest in China.
Xi emphasized that all work to protect the river must be undertaken from a perspective of a community of life featuring harmony between humanity and nature and the sustainable development of the Chinese nation.
