A science exhibition jointly constructed by China and South Africa is ongoing in Johannesburg since Friday, marking substantial progress in the two countries collaboration in science, technology and culture.

The exhibition, titled L.I.S.T.E.N Science Space, was developed by the China Science and Technology Museum and South Africa's Sci-Bono Discovery Center. Spanning an area of 200 square meters, the exhibition is located in the Sci-Bono Discovery Center.

Integrating scientific exhibitions, interactive experiences and cultural exchanges, the exhibition features four distinct areas. Visitors can stimulate innovative thinking by engaging with themed exhibits, explore scientific knowledge embedded in traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage techniques through interactive displays, embark on a space exploration journey, and experience the charm of bionic robot dogs.

In addition, the exhibition offers regular open science classes, allowing visitors to experience the joy of science through hands-on practice.

As the primary provider of resources, the China Science and Technology Museum has integrated its extensive exhibition and educational resources, along with its experience in science popularization, into the construction of the exhibition. The Sci-Bono Discovery Center, leveraging its deep understanding of Africa's science popularization needs and local strengths, ensures that the content resonates with local audiences. This cooperation model is a concrete example of building a China-Africa community with a shared future.

Notably, the opening of the exhibition coincides with South Africa's hosting of the G20 Summit over the weekend, showcasing the fruitful achievements of China-Africa cooperation to delegates from participating countries.

In the future, both countries plan to leverage the exhibition as a platform to continuously expand bilateral cooperation through initiatives such as joint research on exhibition and educational content, the joint construction of a digital resource library, and personnel exchanges. These efforts aim to provide lasting impetus for deepening China-Africa friendship and promoting people-to-people bonds.
