A new installment of a global poverty case series was launched Wednesday during the 2025 International Seminar on Global Poverty Reduction Partnerships.

The Global Poverty Reduction Case Series 2025, a comprehensive collection of 108 exemplary cases selected from 840 submissions across 40 countries and regions, highlights sustainable and replicable poverty reduction models, operational technologies, and inclusive approaches for vulnerable groups.

The cases cover diverse regions, including Ghana, Kenya, Laos, and Brazil, offering insights and strategies for global poverty alleviation efforts. Featured projects include a technical assistance program for agricultural development in Fiji's Northern Division, a rural vitalization and development project in Hunan province, and China–Africa cooperation to strengthen the rice value chain in West Africa.

Speaking at the seminar, Gao Anming, editor-in-chief of China International Communications Group, emphasized the role of technology and knowledge in poverty reduction amid the rapid development of artificial intelligence.

Gao said a China and world poverty governance intelligent agent is under development to enhance experience sharing, facilitate cooperation, and optimize policy implementation through advanced AI technologies. Based on a global database of poverty reduction cases, the platform can automatically identify relevant examples for a target country and propose tailored solutions, improving the precision of experience sharing.

Carlos Aldeco, FAO representative in China and DPRK, said via video link that the new case series, the sixth installment, has become a vital global public good, "capturing real solutions from real communities for real challenges." The cases promote innovations such as digital extension services and climate-smart villages while encouraging global solidarity and inspiring action.

Nii Quaye-Kumah, IFAD representative to China, highlighted the power of partnership and knowledge sharing in his seminar speech. "No single country has all the answers," he said. Through the China-IFAD South-South and Triangular Cooperation Facility, both sides share experiences and learn from each other, enhancing strategies and evaluations in real time.

The seminar brought together nearly 200 representatives from 17 countries and seven international organizations. Participants shared innovative practices, including cases where international organizations empower small-holder farmers in poverty reduction.

The seventh global poverty reduction case collection was also officially launched at the event.
