A surreal scene of a bus suspended in the middle of a tall building at a scenic spot in Southwest China's Chongqing recently went viral, attracting throngs of visitors eager to witness the bizarre yet captivating sight for themselves.

The so-called No 2 bus, seemingly hanging from the eighth floor of the building with its front half appearing to have collided with the wall, creates a dramatic and eye-catching display.

The installation, located in Meixin Wine Town in Chongqing's Fuling district, is not the result of an accident or a movie set, but a carefully crafted art piece unveiled to the public at the start of the year.

The scenic spot, which mainly consists of entertainment facilities and commercial projects, is a comprehensive tourism destination that combines leisure, entertainment, and shopping created by Chongqing Meixin Group.

According to the group, the inspiration comes from a popular Chinese song by the pop singer Dao Lang, in which the lyrics mention a No 2 bus parked on a building's 8th floor. The creators have brought these lyrics to life.

The installation's success is a testament to Chongqing's burgeoning reputation as a hub for innovative and thought-provoking public art. Known for its lively cultural scene and unique architectural landscapes, the city continues to push the boundaries of traditional tourism with attractions that offer more than just visual appeal. For instance, the municipality features a monorail that passes through a 19-story residential building and the 79-meter-high Hongya Cave stilted building complex, which spans 31,500 square meters and is built on a 70-degree cliff.
