Blooming kapoks and other flower varieties have created a stunning scene across Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, to welcome the rising temperatures in early spring.
Residents and visitors alike can experience the pure red color of the kapok, traditionally known as the city blossom of Guangzhou, in parks and historical sites such as the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, the Peasant Movement Institute, and the Haizhu Square.
Local authorities have launched a series of events under the theme of heroic blossoms in the heroic city to highlight the symbolic imagery of the flowers and the distinctive character of the city.
