China urges deeper cooperation with S Korea in semiconductors, lithium batteries
China and South Korea can deepen cooperation in areas including semiconductors, lithium batteries, green development and the silver economy, said China's top industry regulator.
China's Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng said the two countries should uphold open cooperation and equal dialogue to jointly address global challenges, promote the healthy development of each other's industries, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
Li made the comments during a bilateral industrial cooperation ministerial dialogue, held in Beijing on Wednesday.
He emphasized the positive momentum and strong resilience of China-South Korea industrial cooperation, highlighting their complementary and deeply integrated landscape.
Li proposed three specific areas of focus: deepening cooperation in high-tech and emerging fields to achieve high-quality manufacturing; advancing practical collaboration in semiconductors, lithium batteries, green development and the silver economy; and creating a favorable environment for foreign enterprises, including those from South Korea, to continue investing and rooting themselves in the Chinese market.
