Desay SV pushes for innovation in Europe
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's recent visit to China, his fourth in four years, highlights the economic ties between the two nations. As this collaboration flourishes, Desay SV, a leading Chinese company in smart mobility, is strengthening its presence in the European automotive market.
Headquartered in Huizhou, Guangdong province, the 40-year-old company employs more than 11,000 people and operates 26 branches in countries including Germany, France, Spain, Japan and Singapore. The company specializes in the integration of smart cabins, intelligent driving and connected services.
Desay SV's strong performance in 2025 has solidified its role as a global innovator. The company reported an annual revenue of 32.56 billion yuan ($4.77 billion), representing a 17.88 percent year-on-year increase. It has also secured new orders from leading automotive brands, including Volkswagen, Mazda, Skoda, Lexus, Renault, Suzuki, Proton, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
A key part of the company's global strategy is its smart factory in Linares, Spain, which is scheduled to begin operations in the second half of 2026. As Spain forms the cornerstone of Desay SV's European strategy, this facility represents a major step forward in the company's global expansion efforts.
In 2025, the company strengthened its global supply chain with the launch of production projects in Indonesia in May and Mexico in June. These initiatives will enhance the resilience of supply chains and improve service delivery worldwide. The forthcoming Spanish factory will build on these efforts by offering European customers more localized and efficient support.
The smart factory, focusing on producing advanced products for smart cabins and autonomous driving, will establish a more agile, localized and resilient supply chain in Europe. This initiative positions Desay SV as a long-term partner dedicated to mutual growth and shared prosperity in the region.
Embodying Desay SV's guiding philosophy — "In Europe, With Europe, For All" — the Spanish facility is a milestone in the company's internationalization strategy. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony in July 2024, Desay SV Chairman Gao Dapeng said: "By leveraging Spain's strategic geographic location and capitalizing on our expertise in service and technology, Desay SV aims to make Europe a key stage for technological innovation and brand development."
Juanma Moreno, president of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Spain, hailed the project as a landmark Chinese investment with the potential to rejuvenate industrial activity in Linares, a region affected by the closure of Santana Motor over a decade ago.
Similarly, Reyes Maroto, former minister for industry and tourism of Spain, emphasized the factory's role in revitalizing the local economy, noting its potential to create approximately 300 stable, high-quality jobs while further cementing Spain's leadership in the European smart mobility sector.
Spain's position as a leading hub for electric vehicle manufacturing in Europe provides fertile ground for Desay SV's expansion. The country's rich industrial heritage and technical expertise align with the company's efforts to integrate more deeply into the global automotive landscape while reinforcing the resilience of global supply chains.
With a long-term commitment to sustainable growth, Desay SV has earned international recognition for its excellence in innovation, quality control and customer service. Prestigious awards from partners such as Volkswagen and Volvo underscore the company's reputation as a high-quality, trusted supplier.
As Desay SV prepares for its stock market listing in Hong Kong, the company is reaffirming its dedication to advancing global expansion. By leveraging Spain's strategic advantages and supportive industrial policies, Desay SV envisions itself as a bridge for Sino-European collaboration. It aims to harness its technical expertise and global service network to boost the international presence of Chinese automobiles and contribute to the intelligent transformation of the global automotive industry.
