The Digital and Intelligent Health Forum — a key event of the 2026 World Internet Conference (WIC) Asia-Pacific Summit — was held on April 14 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

Under the theme "Digital-Intelligent Integration · Inclusive Health—Toward a People-Centered Smart Health Future," the event explored the integration of next-generation information technologies into healthcare, including artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things.

Discussions focused on building an innovation ecosystem for digital and intelligent health, driving innovation in health services and pursuing inclusive and sustainable development.

The forum brought together over 100 representatives from government agencies, international organizations, medical institutions, universities, research institutes, and enterprises to discuss future trends and cooperation opportunities in integrating digital intelligence with healthcare.

Wu Dong, chief engineer of the Cyberspace Administration of China; Siaosi Sovaleni, minister for public enterprises and minister for health of Tonga; and Percy Percive Chinyama, permanent secretary of Smart Zambia Institute, delivered remarks at the event.

They highlighted the importance of strengthening technological innovation and international cooperation to enhance the accessibility, equity, and sustainability of healthcare services.

The forum featured two themed sessions. The first focused on building an open and collaborative innovation ecosystem for digital and intelligent health.

Participants from organizations including the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, the CR-CP Life Sciences Fund, the American Chamber of Commerce in China, Yuanhua Robotics, Perception & AI Technologies (HK) Ltd., the Lunan Pharmaceutical Group, WeDoctor, MetaX, the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, and Belun Technology shared their perspectives on technological innovation, industrial collaboration, and ecosystem development.

In the second session, speakers discussed practical applications of digital and intelligent technologies in smart healthcare, health management, remote services and primary care, highlighting pathways to improve accessibility and sustainability of healthcare services.

They came from Xunfei Healthcare, Keeson, the University of Hong Kong, QingSong Health, VNPT Information Technology Company, Beijing Shine-Be-Tween Chain Operation Management Co Ltd, DXY (DingXiangYuan), the Wangjing Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and PathoAI, among others.

Participants noted that while digital technologies present significant opportunities for global health development, they also pose new challenges for governance, coordination, and international cooperation.

They called for a people-centered, innovation-driven, and open approach to building a more inclusive and sustainable smart healthcare system.
