Tarim produces more natural gas

CNPC Tarim Oilfields Co Ltd announced it had produced ten billion cubic meters of natural gas as of December 5, with a supply of 35.6 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, making Tarim oilfields an important oil and gas strategic base in China.

CNPC Tarim units are a key part of the 4,000-kilometer pipeline project designed to bring natural gas from western China, primarily Northwest China'sXinjiangUygur Autonomous Region andShaanxiProvince, to 34 energy-starved cities.

CNPC general manager Sun Longde said it currently can provide fuel to 35 million households, and will provide fuel to 60 million by 2010.
