Satellite communication firm targets GPS market

China Satellite Navigation and Communication Co Ltd (CSNC) recently promoted its comprehensive global positioning system (GPS) information service platform and launched its solutions for vehicle routing and security monitoring systems in Beijing.

The promotion was made at the 2006 annual meeting of the Beijing vehicle leasing sector organized by CSNC, which is affiliated with the China Satellite Communications Corporation.

The comprehensive GPS information service public platform is a million-user -level wireless communications operation platform developed independently by the China Satellite Communications Corporation based on the domestic Compass Navigation Satellite System, multimedia broadcasting satellite system, wireless and ground communication network system and GPS system. The system can achieve a variety of communication tasks such as satellite navigation positioning, message communication and satellite emergency routing.
