FedEx to open new center

The FedEx Asia-Pacific Transshipment Center, an international air express hub located in the east of the Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, is scheduled to be put into operation in 2008.

The project was launched on January 16, 2006. During the first ten months of last year, the accumulative investment totaled 870 million yuan.

At present, the karst cave processing and piling of the office building, sorting building and airport control tower have been completed. The runway project started construction on November 3, 2006, and is currently one third complete.
