Q: How do you value the market in China?
A: China's market for accountants is very, very strong. What is driving it is the strong economy. The GDP growth for the last 20 years is really overwhelming compared with other countries in the world, such as Australia with an annual growth of only 3 to 4 percent.
The growth in China is absolutely phenomenal. It attracts lots of foreign investment, and subsequently generates the need for accounting talent.
Q: How will strong economic growth in China help CPA Australia?
A: Lots of businesses and companies go to China these days. There are more than 11 million registered enterprises in China and the number is still growing. Some 56 companies listed on the Hong Kong exchange last year, and all these activities mean more work for accountants.
So there is a high demand for accountants in China, also high demand for accountants around the world.
The number of smaller businesses planning to list that haven't yet is growing. Any wise company would equip itself with a good professional accounting team to well prepare themselves from both the technique and business perspective in floating their shares.
