Leading the carbon trading market for the second consecutive year, China is high on the agenda of the Carbon Forum Asia 2007 to be held in Singapore from November 6 to 7.

Statistics from the World Bank show that Asia continued to dominate the carbon trading market with about 80 percent of volumes transacted, led by China, which supplied 61 percent of carbon credits in 2006.

Leveraging on the strength of Asia in the global greenhouse gas market, the forum will serve as a knowledge sharing platform of emissions trading, carbon abatement solutions and new technologies across the Asian region.

Some 120 exhibitors from 25 countries and more than 1,200 participants from 50 countries are expected to attend the event in Singapore, said Michael Dreyer, vice president Asia Pacific of Koelnmesse, the forum organizer.

At the forum, panels will be held to review the state of the market, envision the post-2012 era, and raise suggestions on the carbon development in Asia, as well as talk about the global situation.

The forum is jointly organized by the Interantional Emissions Trading Association and Koelnmesse GmbH, one of the world's top trade fair organizers.
