China's vehicle output highest in 7 months

China's vehicle output hit 850,000 units in February, the highest in seven months, according to the country's top industrial official.

The output is the highest monthly total since last July, Li Yizhong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday.

But the total output in the first two months declined 1.7 percent from a year earlier to 1.53 million units, Li said.

However, "the declining rate slowed", he said.
