China's passenger car sales up 24% in Feb

China's passenger car sales in February rose 24.23 percent from a year earlier, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said on Tuesday.

A total of 607,300 cars was sold last month, the association said. That represented a fall of 0.54 percent from January, when 610,600 passenger cars were sold.

February sales were partly distorted by a week-long Lunar New Year holiday, which occured in January this year but in February 2008.
