Evercore launches China co-op with CITIC for M&A advisory

Boutique US investment bank Evercore Partners Inc on Sunday said it was launching a partnership with China's CITIC Securities International that will focus on merger and acquisition advisory between China and other international markets.

The partnership, which will also manage a China-focused private equity fund, will be run by Donald Tang, former chairman of Bear Stearns Asia and vice-chairman of Bear Stearns.

The new organization will be called CITIC Securities International Partners Ltd, Evercore said.
