BEIJING - Chinese shares closed mixed on Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.17 percent, or 3.47 points, to finish at 1,997.69.
The Shenzhen Component Index slightly gained 0.06 percent, or 4.45 points, to close at 7,217.02.
