Through cooperation with Visualead, an Israeli software company specializing in visualization of QR codes with configurable secure features, also known as [v]code, a new tracing system based on an agricultural products tracing cloud platform, was launched earlier this year.

Zheng said Visualead's [v]code contributes to their system as both QR codes and secure codes, recoding the circulating process of products and becoming a password when used for registration.

Visualead's [v]code is a type of QR code incorporating images. Joyce Tai, chief commercial officer of Visualead said they developed the [v]code because customers can directly see brand information, no matter it's a logo, an image or a slogan and appeal for more consumers to scan them. Tai also emphasized that, [v]code is compatible with QR code standard, so businesses and consumers can scan [v]code with any mobile applications or scanning equipment.

Visualead began to explore the Chinese market in 2013 due to the wide range of QR code users in China. Early last year it received investment from the Alibaba Group after winning several entrepreneurship prizes.

According to Tai, Visualead has applied for and been granted patents in countries such as China, the United States, Japan and South Korea, among many other countries

"We have started to cooperate from late last year," said Zheng, "and there will definitely be more cooperative opportunities between Visualead and us."
