The 1st China Aviation Startups and Innovation Forum and the 2nd China Aviation Industry International Cooperation and Investment Conference were held in Beihang University in Beijing on August 28 and 29, aiming to encourage more Chinese aviation companies to seize the opportunity to carry out more international communication and cooperation.

Hosted by the investment promotion agency of Ministry of Commerce and several other organizations, the forum also includes a championship named China Aviation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, intending to find talented entrepreneurs, innovative technology and outstanding enterprises as well as to explore international cooperation and investment trends in aviation.

Ten companies participated in the championship. Shanghai OXAI Aircraft Co Ltd won the first prize in the final with their independent research and development on M2 LSA Amphibious aircraft, a kind of aircraft that can be used in both land and water.

Chen Quansheng, consultant for the State Council, said innovation is the core driving force for China's future development. Yang Fengtian, academician of Chinese academy of engineering, talked about the future of green environmental aviation— the new energy airplane. Several other experts also delivered speeches concerning aviation development.

Domestic and international big names including Airbus Group, Finmeccanica-Leonardo Group and Dassault Systems also introduced their achievements in cooperative development with China.
