From home to homeland, retracing roots

Marleen Moffitt , Cadence, 11, and Jocelyn, 8, are from Alaska in the United States.

"At my girls' birthdays, I used to fly red helium balloons, I told them this is going to fly all the way to China. I also took them to the river and poured a bucket of red fluid into it, I told them this water is flowing all the way there. Of course now they are older and don't believe it anymore but I think the essence of it is shared amongst us.

"When I received an invitation to join this trip, although I had no money, I was determined to come. I decided to use the inheritance money from my great aunt who has traveled around the globe, I thought this would be very meaningful."
