Teacher fired after fight with pregnant student

A 36-year-old male teacher surnamed Sun was dismissed after he got a student pregnant in Haikou, capital of Hainan province.

Sun's secret affair with the girl, 18, was exposed after he declined to pay 400 yuan ($59) for an abortion.

The girl went to police after the pair argued on the campus.

The principal at Sun's vocational school said the married teacher violated the school's regulation. Xiao, three months pregnant, was given leave to get an abortion.
