News center for 60th anniversary to be operational on Sept. 22

Journalists from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and foreign countries will have the help of a brand new news center in the Beijing Media Center Hotel near the old CCTV building when they arrive to cover China’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

The center will be operational on September 22, eight days before the October 1 celebrations begin, the Xinhua News Agency said.

The news center will issue press cards and provide journalists with other news services, such as translations of Chinese news reports.

However, reporters will have to apply first in order to attend the celebrations. The application period is from August 3-23.
