Bilateral meeting

President Hu Jintao is expected to hold talks with several leaders of other countries alongside the G20 summit.

The White House announced on Friday that President Barack Obama will meet with Hu at the summit.

US Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told reporters that the two leaders, who last met in Seoul at the nuclear summit in March, will discuss key international issues when they meet on Tuesday.

The meeting between Hu and Obama will be the 12th face-to-face formal meeting between the two since Obama became president in 2009, and will be the last one before the US election later this year.

The two leaders may also discuss guidelines for bilateral trade, especially those over which both sides have differences, said Wang Zihong, director of the Economics Office of the Institute of American Studies with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

"Problems like the further opening up of the Chinese market and the transfer of US technology to China can hardly be resolved overnight, but both countries can elaborate on their stance during the summit, which may speed up the conclusion of agreements in future," he said.

It has also been expected that new French president Francois Hollande will meet Hu during the summit.

If formalized, it will be the first meeting between Hu and Hollande.
