BEIJING - China's Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) on Thursday published the names and office telephone numbers of spokesmen of procuratorates at all levels.

The SPP said the 3,662 procuratorates have a total of 4,473 spokesmen, including two for the SPP.

China has a four-level procuratorate system, including the SPP, the provincial level, the municipal level and the grassroots level.

The move came after the SPP strengthened public relations for the procuratorate system, aiming to make it more transparent for the public.

In 2016 over 2,000 press conferences were held by procuratorates at all levels in China, the SPP said.
