270 billion yuan

The fund for the new rural cooperative medical program will increase to 270 billion yuan ($43.4 billion) in 2013, China News Service reported on Thursday. Twenty kinds of illnesses, including lung and gastric cancers, will be covered by the medical insurance for serious illnesses, and at least 90 percent of the medical costs for treating such diseases can be reimbursed.
