With a history dating back to 1844, Liverpool Hope University is balancing its legacy with a vision for the future. The university's strong tradition of scholarship and research in key disciplines is balanced by its commitment to deliver a first-rate education to students.

The university's first founding colleges were the Church of England's S. Katharine's College, founded in 1844, and the Sisters of Notre Dame's Our Lady's Training College, established in 1856. In 1964, Christ College was established. All three joined to form Liverpool Hope University.
