Contemporary works for Lunar New Year

The National Art Museum of China's first celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year presents more than 200 selected works from a national fine arts exhibition at the 10th China Art Festival, which was held in October in Shandong province. On display are Chinese paintings, oil works, prints, sculptures and watercolors that offer a glimpse into artists' bold experiments to refresh their visual language over the past three years. It will enrich viewers' knowledge of the ever-changing art landscape across the nation.

Master's works

Suzhou Museum is presenting a large exhibition of modern Chinese master artist Wu Changshuo (1844-1927), showcasing more than 50 paintings and calligraphic works, including some top masterpieces created during the artist's prime. Wu's art is rooted in the great traditions of literati artists, such as Zhu Da, Shi Tao and Xu Wei. He has creatively integrated the influence of calligraphy and seal-carving into his painting. His ideas and style had great impact on later artists such as Qi Baishi, Li Keran and Huang Binhong. The exhibition is from the collection of the Zhejiang Museum.
