South Korean pop idol Rain, fresh from completing his military service, is on The Squall tour in Asia. The upcoming concert in Shanghai will feature a 50-meter-wide stage with a 12-meter water screen to create a digital storm in which Rain will sing and dance.

Chinese Menagerie

David Esbjornson, a theater director from the United States, is working with actors of the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center to present a Chinese edition of Tennessee William's Glass Menagerie. The autobiographical play about a dominant mother, a son eager to break through and a mentally fragile daughter, premiered in 1944, and is considered a modern masterpiece of American theater.
