Woman abducts baby to fool, keep sweetheart

A woman was recently arrested after she abducted a 7-month-old baby in order to fool her lover that it was their son.

In 2006, Zhu, 31, of Yongshun county in Hunan province, lived with a coalmine owner surnamed Long in Jiangxi province.

Long, who had two daughters, wanted to have a son. In an effort to preserve the relationship, the woman pretended to be pregnant and returned to her hometown in 2007.

In October, she abducted an infant baby and told the man it was their child.

A whistle-blower who knew Zhu's fabricated tale informed police and the baby was returned to his own parents.
