A lesson in expensive smokes

A Sina Weibo user named "Zhongshanyijianliushi" posted a photo of a carton of cigarettes printed with Tsinghua University Special selling for 10,000 yuan ($1,586) in a store at an airport in Hubei province on Jan 30.

Tsinghua University said on its official website on Feb 2, it has never authorized any enterprise to produce any special tobacco products.

A staff member of the cigarette factory Hubei China Tobacco Industry Co Ltd told Nanfang Daily that the factory did produced a batch of special cigarette for Tsinghua University's 100th anniversary in 2011 as gifts, no for sale. The factory did not respond by the time of publication.
