The attack in Khaldiyah,
about 50 miles west of Baghdad, took place near the main police station,
witnesses said.
About 20 people were injured in the blast, said a U.S. officer at the scene.
It was not immediately clear if anybody had been killed, said the officer who
asked not to be named.
U.S. troops immediately blocked off the area, and two helicopters were seen
hovering overhead.
