Koizumi, Bush to hold talks on sidelines of APEC summit; reports

Bush agreed to hold talks in Chile on the
sidelines of this month's APEC summit, news
reports said.
The two leaders were holding their first telephone
conversation since Bush was re-elected last week, Kyodo News said.
They will meet on the sidelines of the annual summit of the Asia-Pacific
Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, to be held this year on November 20 and
21 in Santiago.
Koizumi congratulated Bush on his election victory, Kyodo said.
The Japanese premier, a close ally of the president, was among the first
world leaders to voice support for the US-led attack on Iraq. He has sent 550
troops to the country, Japan's first deployment since World War II to a war
zone.
