Members of a Chinese
rescue team wave to well-wishers before heading for tsunami-hit Banda Aceh,
Indonesia, at the Beijing Capital International Airport in Beijing on
January 11, 2005. The 35-member team, headed by deputy-director
general of the China Earthquake Administration Liu Yuchen, is mainly
made up of medical and epidemic prevention staff. The team, the second one
dispatched by the Chinese Government, will help deal with the aftermath of
the tsunami that hit South and Southeast Asia last month.
