Zhang Jingchu joins 'The War of Red Cliff'

Chinese mainland actress Zhang Jingchu will join the cast of Hollywood master John Woo's latest epic "The War of Red Cliff".

Zhang's performance in the recent Jury Grand Prize winner film "Peacock" at the Berlin Film Festival greatly impressed director John Woo.

Also, Peacock's director, Gu Changwei, has been persuaded by John Woo to take care of photography on the film.

The high-profile film is still on preparation stage and set to start shooting next year.
